SecuritySolutionsWatch.com: Thank you for joining us today, Neville. Please tell us about your background and your role at Panda Security.

Neville Driver: Over the course of my career spanning 20 years and 4 countries, I have led sales, marketing and business development initiatives for companies such as Hitachi, Agilent and Software Spectrum. I see my current role as Business Director for Panda Security Canada as a great opportunity to sustain and build upon the tremendous momentum we are seeing in the market for Panda Security’s innovative approach to security in a connected world. I am fortunate to lead our sales, marketing and technical support teams at Panda Security Canada as we grow at more than twice the industry average. Not a day goes by at Panda Security Canada without us helping yet another customer realize that his network, protected by conventional methods, is infected by malware posing a serious potential risk to his organization.

SecuritySolutionsWatch.com: Please give our audience an overview of Panda Security solutions.

Neville Driver: Panda Security is one of the world's leading creators and developers of technologies, products and services for keeping clients' IT resources free from viruses and other computer threats. It is currently the 4th largest anti-virus company in the world in terms of revenue. The company has offices in over 50 countries worldwide.

Panda solutions protect our customers comprehensively from the cloud to the endpoint. Our proactive protection, TruPrevent behavioral technologies, Genetic Heuristic Engine and the innovative Collective Intelligence approach brings a whole new level of automation and exceptional detection capabilities to our customers.

We offer Retail and Business class solutions and hardware and software based perimeter protection. And our highly acclaimed Malware Radar audit capability is now included free with most corporate licenses - another first from a security vendor. Customers can now leverage the very best protection without additional investment in hardware, maintenance or personnel with our Managed Services offerings. We offer a 100% malware free guarantee on our hosted Trustlayer Mail clean e-mail services, ideal for organizations with concerns about e-mail borne threats, regulatory compliance and spam. Our Managed Office Protection Services offer the power of the Collective Intelligence platform with a built in audit capability for complete in-the-cloud protection of your corporate network. For our larger customers such as financial institutions or major internet portals with thousands or millions of their clients logging into their systems every day, Panda Security for Internet Transactions offers best in class protection against threats from those client computers. So, I would like to say we protect computers and networks of all sizes from the home user to the largest corporations.

SecuritySolutionsWatch.com: What is your perspective regarding the market drivers for Panda Security solutions at this time?

Neville Driver: Panda Security solutions have come to the forefront with an increase in realization that the malware prevalent today can easily avoid detection by traditional technologies in use by most SMB and corporate entities these days. Indeed the makers of malware frequently test their malware against these traditional systems to ensure they can avoid detection. According to a recent Panda Research study, 72% of medium and large organizations are infected with active malware that can cause economic and productivity losses and remain hidden to installed protections. Today’s malware creators purely strive for financial gain. Further, the quantity of malware generated has increased exponentially in just this past year. Their sophistication is evident from the fact that some malware creators are attempting to patent their malware creations to defend themselves legally against me-too designs. Unique technologies such as Panda Security’s Collective Intelligence will detect these threats as it is based on unmatched security data processing of about 340 million correlations of malware generating 8 terabytes of data each day.

SecuritySolutionsWatch.com: How can Panda’s technology help those who have traditional malware protection?

Neville Driver: The first step we suggest is to determine if your network is indeed protected from these threats. The best way to do this is to audit your network with Panda’s Malware Radar technology. This functionality is available to companies of all sizes and is completely free as part of our recently launched “Infected or Not?” global campaign. IT personnel can visit www.infectedornot.com and leverage Panda’s industry leading up to the minute detection technologies to identify malware and vulnerabilities in their corporate environment. No uninstallation of your current security product is needed for this purpose. An in-depth report is generated identifying the Malware found on the network and its location. I would recommend every IT administrator in Canada to take advantage of this free offer and confirm the integrity of their currently installed network security set-up. Even home users can scan their PCs for free by accessing the Home Users link on infectedornot.com.

SecuritySolutionsWatch.com: Are there some particular “wins” or success stories you’d like to talk about in the enterprise space?

Neville Driver: We come across interesting customer situations every day but some stand out! For example, a reseller of ours recently deployed our Trustlayer Mail solution in a customer environment in the Toronto area. Spam was a huge problem for this customer and the intent was to reduce Spam while ensuring minimum false positives. A while later, the customer called in a concern: he suspected his e-mail service had stopped working- when checked, it was revealed that the e-mail system was working just fine, but our system was doing a great job stopping all the Spam thereby creating the impression of an e-mail system that was “down”! We also protect tens of thousands of computers of a major customer in Western Canada and thousands of computer systems in universities and government entities across the country.

SecuritySolutionsWatch.com: In this highly competitive space, what is Panda Security’s competitive advantage?

Neville Driver: Panda Security’s competitive advantage is in its understanding of the evolution of security threats, its technology and its people. Panda Security is focused purely on the business of security, and we do this extremely well, if I may say so. Our Collective Intelligence model is rated the highest today in terms of processing capability and detection rates. Don’t take our word for it, run a scan at Infectedornot.com and find out how Panda detects malware that has evaded your installed traditional defenses! And you stand to win $ 1000 if we do not detect malware or vulnerabilities on your corporate network of 25 or more PCs! Our periodic detailed audit capabilities that are included in our corporate level products are a wonderful complement to any company’s security model.

SecuritySolutionsWatch.com: What resources, such as case studies and “white papers” are available for end-users at PandaSecurity.com?

Neville Driver: Panda Security has case studies, press releases and white papers on all our products and technologies. They are available online on popular technology websites, on www.pandasecurity.com, or may be requested by contacting Panda Security Canada at 905-479-2208 or Toll free at 1-866-887-3957 or by e-mail at sales@ca.pandasecurity.com.

SecuritySolutionsWatch.com: Thanks again for joining us today, Neville, are there any other subjects you’d like to discuss?

Neville Driver: It’s been a pleasure! Security against online threats is an area that a number of companies can address reasonably well but only a few can excel in. It is also a critical part of your readers’ operations with the potential to cause major disruption and loss of productivity if not secured correctly. Panda Security has committed 25% of its revenue toward R&D to ensure we are always well positioned to lead this fight against malware and help make our digitally connected world a safer place. I would like to remind you and your readers to remember to visit www.infectedornot.com to verify your network’s security. It will be time well spent.
