SecuritySolutionsWatch.com:
Thank you for joining us today, Art. Please give us an overview of your
background and your role at CSC.
Art Coupe: As head of CSC’s identity management practice,
I have overall responsibility for the development and delivery of identity
management solutions to CSC’s Consulting Group clients. During my
seven-year tenure at CSC, I have held management posts overseeing the
development and deployment of identity management solutions and services
for CSC’s Global Security Services clients, as well as directing
the global deployment of a customized user provisioning and two-factor
authentication system for a major Fortune 500 company.
Prior to joining CSC, I specialized in international
operations for commercial and government entities.
SecurityStockWatch: Please give our audience
an overview of the Identity and Access Management solutions provided by
CSC and Sun Microsystems.
Art Coupe: CSC offers companies a world-class
Identity and Access Management solution by combining its proven “end-to-end”
identity and access management capabilities —from initial assessments
and requirements definition, to solution design, development, deployment,
and operations support -- with industry-leading identity management software
such as those from Sun Microsystems. The solution provides complete life cycle management
of user identities and system access privileges to meet compliance and
security requirements, and helps organizations create and manage federated
business relationships.
SecurityStockWatch: Are there one or two success stories or “wins”
that you’d like to talk about?
Art Coupe: Yes, there is a client success
that comes to mind that embodies the benefits we deliver as an end-to-end
solution provider. A Fortune 500 company tapped CSC to assist them in
developing a customized user provisioning application and two-factor authentication
system to replace static passwords for all business critical computing
systems. The scope was global and involved over 90,000 employees.
Over a three-year period CSC successfully designed,
developed, and deployed the solution which now secures all of the client’s
remote access, employee access to the IBM mainframe, SAP, HP servers,
administrator access to the Unix operating system, as well as access to
over 1,500 web applications and firewalls. The user provisioning application
CSC deployed now manages over 100,000 unique global client user IDs. I’m
pleased to note that the system is still in service at this client and
is managed by CSC.
Currently we have a Sun Identity Manager implementation
ongoing with a Federal Agency that is proceeding very well and have successfully
deployed the solution for a client in the Aerospace/Defense Industry.
SecurityStockWatch:
We understand that CSC and Sun Microsystems have a special event coming
up in New York City on May 10th. What can you tell us about it? What is
the agenda and the focus of this event? Where can our audience obtain
more information about it if they would like to attend?
Art Coupe: We are very pleased with the opportunity to team with Sun Microsystems to host a forum on security and compliance issues for executives in financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, government, retail, utilities and other enterprise verticals.
During this forum, attendees will learn
about the impact of legislation on IT security and compliance, and how
challenges associated with managing, protecting and verifying user identities
and controlling access to information throughout the enterprise and across
extranets can be addressed. In addition, Sun and CSC speakers will share
lessons learned and suggest a path forward for implementing successful
identity and access management solutions.
I’ll be joined by two other speakers: Len Baptiste, CSC’s
director of federal security solutions, the former director of IT security
for the Internal Revenue Service, and Naresh Persaud, Sun Microsystems’
senior director of security and compliance. For more information on this
event or to register, attendees should visit http://216.153.209.20/csc/CSC_Sun_Reg1.cfm
